NILAKSHI BORGOHAIN received her education in Loreto Convent and St Mary’s, Shillong. She graduated from Miranda House, Delhi University and obtained first position in post graduate diploma in Journalism and PR from Kochi Institute of Management Studies.
Her prize winning poetry appeared in several anthologies. To name a few: Our Worlds Most Cherished Poems, Of Diamonds and Rust, Between a Laugh and a Tear. Her experience in the publication world include that of a senior reporter, columnist , feature writer and senior executive .She contributed features to reputed magazines such as Namaskar, Jetwings and India Perspective (Ministry of External Affairs publication) and wrote book reviews for journals including the Indian Literature (Sahitya Akademi). Her first collection of short stories ‘Streets of Fear’ was published by Minerva. Her second collection of short stories, ‘Rhythms of Life’ was published by BR Publications. Her extensive travels abroad as well as within the country has greatly shaped her as a writer who can write with clarity and conviction on the local cultures which occupy an integral part in her works .She has been awarded the Editor’s Choice award 2010 for creative/critical writing by the Home of Letters (India)â€â€ÂInternational publishers of books and journals.‘Waltz in Happiness’ is her first novel. She currently lives in Gurgaon.
