An agro-meteorologist by profession, Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora has so far authored twenty-nine novels and twenty-six short story collections, some of which have been bestsellers for a number of years. He has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Saraswati Samman’ (2008), besides a number of awards, including ‘Sahitya Akademi Award’ (1988) and ‘Assam Valley Literary Award’ (2004). A former professor of physics and agro-meteorology and chairman of the Assam Pollution Control Board, he now edits the widely circulated Assamese weekly Goriyoshi.
