Description
The rectilinear meander design on the Museum’s frame is adapted from the Greek key pattern, one of the most common designs represented in ancient Greek art. In antiquity, this motif was generally used as a decorative border adorning vases, marble monuments, friezes and even clothing. Today, this design is used in art and architecture to add a classical touch, as it does to the Museum’s frame.
