Description
Reliefs and paintings on tomb walls provide evidence of how jewelry was made and worn in ancient Egypt. Pendants, necklaces, earrings, diadems, armlets, bracelets, anklets, and hair ornaments not only beautified the wearer, but sometimes also served as amulets, protecting the owner from harm. Finely worked pieces of jewelry were commonly placed in the tombs of the royal family and high ranking officials. Our Egyptian Gold Melon Bead Bracelet is adapted from an ancient Egyptian necklace (about 15501295 B.C.) from Dynasty 18 that was excavated from a tomb in western Thebes.
24 kt. gold-plated sterling silver, with lapis and turquoise. Length adjustable from 7 1/2 in. to 8 in.; with extender chain.
