O.P. Mishra is a serving Indian Police Service Officer of the AGMUT cadre. A PhD in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, he has written for the Indian Police Journal and contributed to different course programmes of the Indira Gandhi National Open University. His book, Policing Delhi: Urbanisation, Crime and Law Enforcement, is an important contribution towards understanding the sociology of crime in a metropolitan city. Apart from holding significant positions in different segments of the AGMUT cadre, Dr. Mishra has also served as an International Civil Police Officer in the United Nations Mission in Kosovo. He is a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services.
