Pran Nevile, former diplomat and UN advisor,has been engaged in the study of the social and cultural history of India for several years. Born and educated in Lahore, he is an acknowledged specialist on the Raj period, and has authored many books on the subject. He has also served as a consultant for two BBC films on the Raj.
